From Galloway we drove East to the Grey Mare’s Tail, a towering waterfall in a deep valley. Alongside the falls there’s a steep ascent. Passing purple heather, wild goats and a trickling stream, eventually you reach Loch Skeen. We waited two hours for the sun to break through.
